Wrenches: Craftsman Hand Tool Warranties

By   /   April 4, 2012  /   Comments Off

Craftsman Wrench Carries Best WarrantyCraftsman tools have been atop the pack since the 1970s. Several other brands of wrenches have come and gone, but none have made quite the impact that the Craftsman brand has. All Craftsman hand tools have a lifetime waranty, but surely this can’t be the sole reason for their success as many of their contemporary competitors have risen to the challenge and offer a similar promise of quality with their tools.

Wrenches are not the only tool that is covered under the Craftsman brand warranty. If you have a screw driver, socket or any other product of their brand and bring it in to an official retailer you can expect to get a replacement the very same day with the greatest of ease. But, when it comes to warranties, wrenches are what matters. This is because they are among the most common thing that can be broken. You have to apply some major torque to crack or break a socket and screwdrivers are mostly only stripped out by using them for the wrong applications.

Craftsman: The Industry StandardTraditional Wrenches by Craftsman

Stanley, Kobalt, and even Black & Decker offer warranties with their lines of tools. Some claim to be just as easy to switch out as a Craftsman, but this is not always the case. The fact that exchanging a Craftsman wrench has become a staple in the industry for the ease of returning a product speaks volumes about the consensus of their hand tool warranty.

Sears Kmart Merger

In 2005, Sears merged with Kmart keeping flagship brands Kenmore and Craftsman. This means that even if there is not a Sears store near you, visit a neighborhood Kmart and you will be able to find the same quality tools.  You will be able to exchange Craftsman tools in many more locations if you ever need to.

Sears and Kmart carry a variety of Craftsman wrenches: open end, boxed wrench, and a newer type of ratcheting wrench. So, if you ever have a problem with a Craftsman brand wrench, even if it is a newer ratcheting wrench, you will be able to exchange it at your local Kmart or Sears. A ratcheting wrench works the same way a socket driver does, but since it is a wrench it is flat and can help you get into those really hard to reach spaces. This makes this type of wrench ideal for home repair and automotive work.

A Universal Truth About Good Warranties

Generally companies that offer the best warranties also offer the best products. This is a simple matter of economics, because if they had inferior products with a good warranty they would not be able to stay in business. This is how you know which brands you can trust. The companies that offer the best warranties have products that you will more than likely never have to exchange or test the warranty policies.
